Snail Mama!

Ok, so this is a more personal post, as if the others weren’t, but whatev.

I’ve had three snails taking up residence in my aquarium. They seem to be the only thing that survive, other than my big Bully Mama Gourami.

The three snails, named Bruce Willis (because when I first got it it looked just like Bruce Willis’ shaved head), Big Guy, and Itty Bitty (though Itty Bitty isn’t so itty bitty anymore) have a lot of sex. I mean a lot. The first time it was happening I thought Big Guy was trying to eat Bruce Willis, but a little Googling told me that there was some major snail fornification going on up in my apartment. However, nothing has ever resulted from this snail hanky-panky, so I just assumed they were different species or infertile or able to get some snail prophylactics.

But my assumptions were wrong! While on the phone with JPR I noticed a little something on the rock in the aquarium. Closer inspection revealed….a little behbeh snail! He’s so gosh darn cute with his little antennae wiggling about. Anyway, I tried to take a picture of him but it didn’t work out so well due to the glass. But I’m going to post it anyway, since that’s what a good mama does.

OMG did Dad tell you about the blob of eggs that appeared? Like, grossest thing ever. And to think, I used to be a biology teacher. Feh!
